Abstract: The present volume is second in the series of publications of Development Hand Books for the Primitive Tribal Groups (PTGs. Now renamed as PVTGs)) of Odisha State. It is practically an action plan based on techno-economic survey conducted among the Bondo tribe. The Bondo Highlanders or Upper Bondo as a tribal group are relatively isolated and live in inaccessible areas presently under the jurisdiction of Khairput Block of Malkangiri district. The Upper Bondos are mainly concentrated in two Grampanchayats- Mudilipada and Andhrahal and for their all-round development a micro-project with its headquarters at Mudulipadais operating since 1976-77. In course of planned development intervention something has been achieved but the achievement is not in consonance with the aspiration.Hence, there is need for more and more efforts for sustainable development. The chief objective of the preparation of Development Handbook is to formulate action plan for achieving sustainable development within a time frame with multi-sectoral and holistic approach. It is based on techno-economic survey conducted through the expertise of the experienced specialists in their respective sectors called Project Consultants, in collaboration with the Director and Research staff of SCSTRTI. The principal objective of the action plan is to achieve sustainable development for the Upper Bondo. It incorporates the past development efforts including physical and financial targets and benefits accrued to the beneficiaries, their present socio-economic status; and felt-needs and requirement of funds and personnel for implementation and management of location-specific and need-based development programmes. The Development Handbook will act as a source book for the development administrators associated with the implementation of various multi-sectoral programmes among the people in the area.
