An Evaluation Report on the implementation of Panchayat Extension to Scheduled Areas Act 1996

Abstract

With the directives received from the Governor's Office of Maharashtra, a state wide evaluation study was conducted by TRTI, Pune to find out how well the said Act is being implemented on ground with respect to its objectives. It contains present day status of the implementation of the said Act in Maharashtra as well as the challenges faced during implementation. Important recommendations have been made to increase the reach of this Act in near future. It is one of the most comprehensive evaluation study conducted by gathering information from key personnel extending over 293 Gram Panchayats and 852 PESA Villages.
