Abstract: The basic objectives of TSP is to channelize the flow of outlays and benefits from the general sectors in the Central Ministries or Departments for the development of STs at least in proportion to their population, both in physical and financial terms. The concept of TSP launched in the fifth five year Plan aims to ensure integrated development of the various Scheduled tribe communities in the country with the aid of all pooled financial resources of the centre and States, keeping in view their different economic and socio cultural backgrounds.The study evaluated the utilization of TSP funds (both central and state) in selected twelve villages (three villages from each district) in Kasaragod, Wayanad, Idukki and Palakkad districts, the tribal majority districts of Kerala. Also the study reveals the outcomes of the development interventions in the areas of infrastructure, livelihood, educations, human resource development etc.This study is a comprehensive analysis of various development schemes implemented among the tribes under Tribal Sub Plan projects.
