Abstract: | Today, there are 60 Higher Secondary Schools in the State in remote tribal pockets extending higher secondary level courses on residential mode. Many more schools at this level are in the process of coming up under the fold of ST/SC Department administrative control. These institutions are showing better results compared to the State average results, However, to ensure more effective functioning of these institutions and to enhance the quality education and better academic attainment among the students, an effort was made to establish the Academic Performance Monitoring Cell (APMC) in SCSTRTI for bringing in improvement in the functioning of these institutions. In the first year, from September onwards till now, the APMC has taken initiatives to strengthen the system of +2 education by way of. (i) Formulating a lesson plan for each subject to have uniformity in teaching and timely completion of courses in all the educational institutions under it; (ii) formulation of lesson note and compilation of a question bank in each subject with ideal answers for each subject thereby providing teaching support to teachers; (iii) For up-gradation of teaching skills & classroom transactions capacity building training programs for all the Junior lectures and Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) of all the educational institutions under were organized; (iv) For monitoring the academic performance of the Students/Teachers/Institutions and to have required information at fingertips a Monitoring System has been kept in place. |
