Abstract: | Bastar, a tribal region in the state of Chhattisgarh, reflects its presence in the world due to its distinct culture. Dussehra is the oldest historical festival celebrated in the state for about 76 days, which is dedicated to the mother goddess Danteshwari of Bastar region. But presently it is held for 13 days. The main attraction of Bastar Dussehra is Pat jatra vidhan, Deri Gadai Vidhan, Kachhin Gadi, Kachhan Jatra, Raila Puja Vidhan, Jogi Bithai, Mawli Parghab Vidhan, Rath Parikrama, Kuwari Puja Vidhan, Bhitar Raini, Bahar Raini, Muria- Darbar for mutual discussion on the problems of the region, the bidai ceremony of goddess Danteshwari (Mawli) and so on. |
