Abstract: | Tea industry in Tripura was historic in nature. In the regime of King Birendra Kishore Manikya the 183rd king of Tripura was the first man to introduce tea plantation in infertile and non-cultivable land in the state. Tea plantation was considered as one of the scheme towards improvement of tribal livelihood by the Govt. of Tripura. The study tried to find out the impact of scheme on improvement of livelihood among the tribal people and also give some suggestions and recommendations for possible consideration of the Govt. of Tripura. |
