Abstract: In the year 1980 an educational organization named Purbottar Bhaxa Samiti was formed temporarily at B. Barooah College, Guwahati Assam to initiate and popularize the teaching of indigenous languages of Assam and the North Eastern languages like Assamese, Bodo, Mising Karbi, Khasi etc. Sri Tabu Ram Taid, a famous Mising educationist, linguist, author and administrator and Sri Bhrigumoni Kagyung, executive member of the Samiti were responsible for imparting knowledge on Mising language in the classes organized by the Samiti. In fact the lessons as well as teachings of Sri Tabu Ram Taid have also been compiled into a book named as Mising Bhaxar Somu Porichoy. Sri Bhrigumoni Kagyung was also requested by the Samiti to compile a book on Mising language and its learning. This book is an outcome of the same. Therefore, this book can be defined as a handbook to easy learning of the Mising language, even for the non Mising individuals.
