Abstract: | This is an enchanting collection of timeless folktales of the Biates, retold by Sri Roia Nampui. Coming to the stories, the folktales retold in this book are long lost and forgotten ones. Also the second part of this book comprises of a number of Biate proverbs. This book is expected to enrich the reader with knowledge on the socio cultural and day to day life of the Biate community. Altogether there are ten folk tales that have been included in this book along with a number of Biate proverbs. The name of the ten folk tales included in this book are Seven Brothers and Their Sister, The Country Dao Sharpener, Zolchongi and Kulzopa, Irungnu and Lingthite, The Two Sisters, Nunvangi and Rangsuna, The King and the Poor Lady, The Paddy Goddess, Seven brothers and Tekbereisuante, and the Two Girls and the Witchcraft. |
