Abstract: Baseline survey was carried out to assess the impact of government interventions, identify development gaps and deficiencies and develop Micro Plan for the Juangs of Nagada and its neighbouring villages Nagada village, which once earned a bad name over the deaths of 20 kids reportedly due to malnutrition, is finally getting the taste of development. As key findings of the survey, it was reported that for the first time, an all-weather road was constructed connecting the main road till Lower Nagada village.The construction of school was completed and the government also provided solar lights, water filters and health facilities in these remote area to improve the lives of malnourished children of Nagada area. State government also opened a Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) at the village where 25 children along with their mothers are being provided special care and treatment. The NRC at CHC Sukinda is an effort taken at the need of the hour that could prove to be very beneficial for poor mothers of Nagada with malnourished children especially children in critical condition. It acted assavior for a number of children of Nagada. Appropriate policy changes have been done by Govt. for easy access to Public Distribution System (PDS) shops and promote availability and consumption of food grains by tribals which includes reduction in travel distance of PDS point i.e. from Chingudipal to Deogaon and subsequently from Deogaon to Nagada, replacement of Wheat to Rice for all beneficiaries, from limited coverage to 100% beneficiaries coverage in Nagada villages, increasing beneficiaries to AAY (from 94 to 106 households) and even reducing numbers in PHH (from 21 to 14 households). Based on the baseline survey, 5-year prospective plan for development of Juangs of Nagada and neighbouring areas has been chalked out. The perspective plan involves a dedicated fund allocation for over a period of 5 year in Nagada and its adjacent villages. The plan focuses on promotion of Education, Health & Nutrition, Drinking Water & Sanitation, Infrastructure like Housing, Connectivity, Electrification and Sustainable Livelihood promotion with focus on their holistic development without disturbing their natural set up
