Abstract: | Process Evaluation of Andhra Pradesh Tribal Development Project commenced with a total outlay of 779.74 million rupees from the year 1991-1992. The project period is seven years and the project area lies within Integrated Tribal Development Agency areas in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Vishakhapatnam and East Godavari districts. The Project Appraisal Report and various guidelines evolved by the Project Co-Ordination unit to operationalize the concept of Participatory Community Development envisaged a series of motivation meeting as instruments for rising the awareness of community, understand the project Philosophy and Content. Nature Resource Development is one of the components of the project. Soil, Water and Forests are the natural resources considered here. Soil conservation - it was envisaged in the appraisal report that the soil conservation works would be implemented using the farmers own labour for which they would receive payment. In the IFAD Programme, there is no provision surprising for follow up action in the field of Agriculture. Therefore, it is necessary to integrate the schemes of ITDA and lending programme of GCC to take up programs such as supply of seed fertilizers, implements, plough, bullocks etc., To increase the food security and living standards through a strategy that improves community management of human and natural resource in sustainable way, participatory method of community development and management is observed to be the suitable approach. It was also found that the officials have gone strictly by IFAD programme regarding Agriculture Development which does not provide for follow up programme |
